Taunton Carnival Committee

Taunton Carnival Committee is a voluntary organisation whose main aim is to raise money for local charities. It was set up in 1968 to organise the town's Annual Illuminated Carnival Procession (3rd Saturday in October).
In 1983 it combined with others to organise the Taunton Marathon & Half Marathon under the banner Taunton Marathon Committee, and ran the event from then until 2022.
In 1987 it took on the organisation of the Taunton 10k, held annually on the last Sunday in September. From 2024 the race has been organised by the same team, but now under the name of the Carnival Committee.
We make donations to local organisations and charities from surpluses made on a year's activities.
